Yesterday, Hannah went to stay with Grandma. They are making bags for Grandma’s discovery hour class at church and the kids are each going to get paid for the number of bags they help with. It looks like they had time for some other crafts and fun as well. Grandma sent a bunch of great photos-this one is my favorite.Â

Friday’s sale went really well. Thanks for everyone who stopped by. We sold everything but 3 pieces of lemon sandwich cake and 2 unfrosted cookies. We are going to try again this Friday.  Thanks Suzanne for trying so hard to get a photo of the kids and I, they would NOT stand still. :)Â

Saturday, Luke found a snake when he was helping me with the chickens. When he returned, he had packed a weapons box, and Allison and him were dressed to take on the snake. They didn’t get it, but I think they scared it away. 😉

Remember this project? Even though I am behind, I still love to check in and see what other Mom’s have captured for the week.
- Â Hannah is holding Hoppie, the toad she found this week.Â
- The kids love moving the playhouse around, I think it has been taken apart and reset up at least 3 times this week.
- A tea party while visiting the Grandma’s last week in Lawrence. My Mom has a beautiful collection of tea cups from all over. She lets the girls each chose one and they have a tea party every time we visit.

Not often does Luke hang out with the girls and Ollie. But, he really wants to earn more money this summer, so he has decided he doesn’t mind helping with them sometimes.

Besides helping with the hens and rooster(s?), we are going to have some bake sales. This Friday there will be fresh lemonade, lemon sandwich cake with filling and cherries, sugar cookies and something with chocolate. Tomorrow will include some baking. :)Â

life will slow down a bit.”  Well, I think I have been saying that since last September. I bet if I asked Luke and Hannah’s piano teacher, she would know. Well, now I am saying “just a few more days”… And next week, I don’t think I have any appointments on the calender, school is officially completed for this year, and maybe, just maybe, we can settle into a new routine. I am so ready.  Â

I’m now 34. Thank you everyone for remembering. I received phone calls, facebook messages, wonderful mail with gift certificates for kid watching, surprise visits from friends, gifts of very special cookies, a rad Amy Butler scrapbook album, a tea party and handmade hen and rooster patterns, a handmade leaf press notebook. I already had received 2 blueberry bushes and American bittersweet and a rose bush and flowers for the front porch and money to purchase some of the books I’ve been gushing over, a new loaf pan…. It has not only been a wonderful day, but a wonderful couple of weeks.  Here are just a few photos to show how great turning 34 really is, and how blessed I am. God has put so many amazing people in my life and as I take time to think about all of them, I have no reason to ever feel ungrateful.Â

Luke played his last soccer game of the season Saturday. The team rocked, they didn’t come home with the win, but they played a great game together.

Matheau bought Guitar Hero III recently, I think the kids almost love it as much as he does. Almost. 🙂 Here they are ready to jam, notice the clothes pin attached to the headband to work as the microphone. Â

We only have a week and a half left of school, this week we will be working hard to tie up any loose ends to finish us up. My Grandma is visiting, so we hope to get in an extra visit with her as well. I hope to get back on schedule with my sixandone project this week. We will see.  I had a great Mother’s Day, flowers, homemade notebooks, chinese for lunch, time to spend in the yard planting my new flowers and bittersweet I received for my birthday-it was a wonderful day. To the wonderful Mothers in life, thank you for all you do. I hope you had a perfect day.   Â
I also want to let you know I started another blog to journal my chicken, gardening, sewing and cooking adventures. So many times there are things I want to mention, but they are more about what I am doing in spare moments then the rest of the family. If you are interested in those details you can find the journal at Fresh Eggs and Lavender.Â
