The Nativity Story

liz_program_mosaic.jpg

told by 4 & 5 year olds, with the help of Mrs. P and Mrs. B. Lizzie played Mary in the program. Even though this was my 3rd child to have the opportunity to participate, it was just as great this year. 🙂

A bit of this last week.

mosiaic_4_aug_475.jpgDays go by so rapidly. Some many times I have so many things I want to get down on paper or here, and by the time I get to the computer, I have forgotten or am too tired to record it all…

  1.  Lizzie took the photo of Alli and me
  2. Some of the flowers in the garden-I love the colors.
  3. Luke pondering some serious stuff of life.
  4. Some recently finished handwarmers. Pattern is from The Knitter’s Book of Yarn. Yarn from The Plucky Knitter.

Weeks 14 and 15.

mosaicweek_14_15.jpg Remember this project? Even though I am behind, I still love to check in and see what other Mom’s have captured for the week.

  1.  Hannah is holding Hoppie, the toad she found this week.
  2. The kids love moving the playhouse around, I think it has been taken apart and reset up at least 3 times this week.
  3. A tea party while visiting the Grandma’s last week in Lawrence. My Mom has a beautiful collection of tea cups from all over. She lets the girls each chose one and they have a tea party every time we visit.

Week ten.

mosaic_week_ten.jpg

The past week was a blur, a good blur, but none the less, a blur. The week included some sunshine and the blooming of my hyacinths. Hyacinths have the most lovely fragrance. The girls have picked several for us to enjoy inside the house as well as out.

The chicks keep growing. They have lost most of their down and more feathers come in almost every time I check in on them. They peep all day and all night. I am beginning to wonder if I will miss their song when they move out doors. I do know I will be excited to not have to clean their litter so often to keep the smell to a minimum. 🙂 Hannah spends a lot of time playing and training them. Trixie (the one on her arm in the photo) has mastered all sorts of tricks. You can see more on Hannah’s page. I showed her how to upload photos and she has been having a great time blogging. ;)

Besides caring for the chicks, some small sewing projects, classes, and making more preparations for the garden, we went to FCA State Conference this past weekend. It was a great chance to get away, eat cafeteria food and meet up with old friends and find some new. There were 780 students from high schools across the state. Matheau and Scott, a friend ours headed up a crew to allow different locations to view live video of the conference. Very cool to see it all come together. As the days warm up, I know things are just going to get busier, please check in with Hannah if you don’t happen to see anything new with me. 🙂

Week 9.

All photos were taken  in the kitchen this week. :)  mosaic_nine_kitchen.jpg

 April

by Sara Teasdale

The roofs are shining from the rain,

The sparrows twitter as they fly,

And with a windy April grace

The little clouds go by.

Yet the back yards are bare and brown

With only one unchanging tree-

I could not be so sure of Spring

Save that it sings in me.

Thankfully our back yard is changing to green, but our roofs are shining again this morning.

Week six.

mosaic_week_six.jpgLast week was windy, but oh so much warmer. I am so excited for Spring. (In just a few more weeks our baby chicks will arrive.) Yesterday, even though the cold has returned, I saw a crocus trying to bloom.

  1. One of Hannah’s drawings on the sidewalk.
  2. Bread and jam on a picnic.
  3. Hannah not happy about being outside in the cold again. 😉

Also, the Spring Small magazine is out. If you like children’s clothing, you will enjoy this ezine. Have a super day everyone!

Week five.

mosaic_week_5.jpg

I’m a bit late posting my three photos this week, but my camera is fine and I am so glad to be posting photos! Something happened to my card reader? (A huge thank you to Matheau for helping find the problem and giving me your card reader.) I cheated a bit, with the loss of my photos from last week, plus sick days, there were no photos. Sooo,  these are from this week.

Photo 1: A visit to the park.

Photo 2: Working on our first terrariums. Lots of fun. We will hopefully work on two more tomorrow.

Photo 3: Lizzie talking to Mrs. Penny on the phone. (Thanking her for the delicious homemade brownies she dropped by.)
