Thoughts of Thanksgiving.

The kids and I have been doing a bit of talking about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. There are a couple of stories we are going to share together over the next few days. I thought I would pass on some links that you may be interested in.

And, finally, the apple galette I made a few couple of weeks ago. If you are in the mood for pie, but don’t want to mess with extra time involved with your crusts, this is the way to go. Thank you “Martha Stewart Everyday Food”.

The Apple Galette looks awesome!! 🙂

A customer in wal-mart (up in KC) Friday night gave me this recipe for a Turkey Baste (since she over heard me talking to my brother on the phone, asking directions on how to cook a turkey and what to put on it!!!) haha

1/2 C – White Grape Juice (or Wine)
    1/2 C – Vegitable Oil
    1/2 tsp. – Rosemary
    1/2 tsp. – Garlic Salt
    1/2 tsp. – Onion Salt

Mix together, and cover your turkey with the mixture. Cook turkey as directed on it’s original package. The oven bags work great for this, keeps all the juices inside! It’s pretty yummy!

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

That pie looks yummy. Your family is so blessed. You are a good cook, wife and mother. These times are so full and busy but they will have such lasting impact on all to touch. My mom was equally as busy as I was growing up and I have such fond memories of my youth.

    Love,
    Donna
