Lunchtime chatter.

Out of the blue the other day.

“If someone killed martian manhunter, he would fix his-self, right Luke?”  asked Lizzie.

Of course he would, and then the conversation continues regarding other super heroes abilities and their Dad, and on and on with the superhero talk.

A Valentine wrap up.

More cards were made, and boxes finished, and roses were received…

Alli also helped pick out a candle and some chocolates.

Hannah came up with the idea to make a Valentine tree to go with her cards she created.

There are so many things going on right now- one of our good friend’s Dad is in the hospital in serious condition, we have a reunion this weekend (that will be a blast), friends coming to stay, extra friends and children at the house this week… but there is still much work to do to get ready for Valentine’s parties.

Such as Alli and I baking litzer cookies for Lizzie’s preschool class, Valentine’s to be made and signed, boxes to work on. The second photo are Hannah’s first project using photoshop. I purchased a digital scrapbook kit from the The Shabby Shoppe, taught her some basics and she went to work. I think she did a super job.

For Lizzie’s, I purchased some from the Little Brown Pen’s shop

And, I am making a few of my own… now to figure out what Luke and Alli are going to make and give.

It is pretty bad when you almost forget your login between posts…

So, a bit of an interruption.

Today, while trying to finish up work on our taxes to head to our CPA’s Alli was wanting a bit of help. She brought down her tiger and asked for a shirt. Being so focused on the taxes, I didn’t hear her say shirt and I was assuming this tiger was a girl… Alli, knowing me ever so well, continues to asks and also throws in some short cut ideas to help me out. I tend to make the project bigger then it needs to be, so I don’t always get them completed to quickly. Sooo, I did take a break… and made the tiger a dress. Only to be reminded by Alli that she wanted a KU t-shirt, “a v-neck would be nice” she said. So back at it again.

Now, before you think I did some amazing things today, yes, I am very happy I made her tiger the shirt, but there are many places in our home right now that are not as cute as the shirt. 😉

Also, since I am finally posting, we had a Mom and her sons and daughters drop by on Monday. The girls have arrived from Haiti. 🙂

Suzanne and the girls.

(You can click on their photo for more details from them.) It was almost unbelievable to have them in our living room. To watch Suzanne be Mom to two little girls -who still speak Creole and can say “stop it” in English. I think on several occasions during their brief visit, my heart just wanted to melt. They have been waiting for two years, and now they are here, their family is looking the way God intended it to.
